Local Produce and Juicing

Recently, one of my lovely clients brought me a green juice treat when she came in for her monthly facial. This was not only a wonderful and delicious surprise, it was an opportunity to check out another great local business. Farm to Fork Produce in La Jolla specializes in cold pressed juices from locally grown organic produce.

Here’s a little blurb straight from the Farm to Fork website about cold pressing:
Pressing the produce, in order to extract the juice, preserves maximum amounts of vitamins, trace minerals, enzymes, and other vital elements with minimum oxidation.

I tried the Radiance green juice (fuji apple, cucumber, celery, spinach, swiss chard, green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, fennel, parsley, lemon, ginger) and it was fabulous. I’m excited to try more! If you are near the La Jolla area, go and check them out.

While you’re at it, here is another great website focused on farm to table produce. Suzie’s Farm is a local (San Diego-based) farm that delivers organic produce to so many local restaurants, food trucks, cafes and juice bars (including Juice Nation in Solana Beach!)

I stumbled across their website while researching juice recipes and local produce. They have a great directory of all the local jaunts using their produce. It’s nice to know that so many San Diego businesses use local produce. When planning the next date night, girl’s night or lunch, you may want to look at this list first!
