A good friend sent this to me yesterday and I thought it was such a great visual reminder. Every piece of produce offered in your grocery store comes with a code. Remembering these three simple rules will help you pick the healthiest produce even if there aren’t labels or proper signs.
Conventionally grown = probable use of fertilizers and pesticides
Organically grown = farmed without the use of commercial pesticides and fertilizers (if the produce has a USDA label, the soil is also free of pesticide residue)
GMO = Genetically modified seeds used = you DONT want to eat this
