Temperatures are rising and summer is quickly approaching – making it the perfect time to introduce smoothies to your diet! They are a quick, easy way to get a boost of antioxidants, vitamins, water, fiber, greens, protein and other nutrients that boost radiance and keep skin healthy. These yummy recipes are jam packed with beautifying skin goodies. Smoothies can be a snack or a meal, depending on what you include. Refreshing, fulfilling and 100% good for your skin!
Here is my personal favorite recipe (its often my breakfast too!)
- Handful of frozen organic mixed “fancy” berries (raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 scoop protein powder (I use ClearVite and love it!)
- 1 teaspoon powdered greens, like VitaMineral Green
- 1/2 teaspoon honey – or royal honey (even better)
*Berries are loaded with bioflavinoids which protect skin from free radical overload. Vegan protein will help your skin build healthy collagen. Powdered greens will deliver extra polyphenols, minerals, cholrophyl and more to keep skin glowing.
Tropical Dream Smoothie
- Handful of the following fruits:
Frozen mango chunks
Frozen papaya chunks (or fresh)
Frozen organic strawberries
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 banana
*Mango and papaya contain high amounts of Vitamin C and beta carotene to keep skin protected, balanced and youthful. Vegan protein builds a healthy collagen fiber network. Bananas and coconut water contain tons of potassium to keep you and your skin fully hydrated and bright.
We posted these great green drink recipes a while back. They are perfect for those who want to venture into green drink land but are a little worried about drinking something that tastes like grass (because they don’t – they are actually really refreshing and sweet!)
