Baby Carrots Not Really Babies?

bag of carrots 150x150 | Baby Carrots Not Really Babies? | skin nutritionMy good friend, Christa (a new mom who is always on the lookout for health tips), found this great article about baby carrots. I thought it was very interesting and definitely worth sharing with all of you.

Turns out our favorite teenie veggie snacks are impostors that could be providing us with an more than a dose of vitamin A and fiber…chlorine?

Normally I would recommend such a healthy snack choice, but just like any fruit or vegetable that has been pre-peeled and cut, they have to be preserved in some way…and preservation can seriously mess with nutritional factors.

Check it out and let me know what you think. I will be buying my carrots in adult form from now on.

  1. Thanks for posting, I’ll definitely be subscribing to your blog.

  2. Thanks ever so much for this great info. We always buy these carrots…………..after all, they say they’re organic (and so-o-o-o convenient). Who knew about the chlorine? We’ll be buying the gnarly big ones with greens attached from now on. Bye bye to convenience but hello to better health! Thanks again for the info. Cheers!
