If sugar is bad for your skin, High Fructose Corn Syrup is awful! It not only spikes your cortisol and blood sugar, but it is incredibly difficult for your body to process. This puts stress on your digestive system and wreaks havoc with your stress hormones – which leads to breakouts, oxidative stress, dark circles, hyper pigmentation and sun sensitivity, and premature skin wrinkling.
This article by Lifehacker, explains that research has shown this corn sweetener to be more “fattening” than sugar itself. It caught our eye and reminded us of the need to spread the word about HFCS.
