Summertime Sugar Scrub Recipes!

Do you have a good sugar scrub recipe that I can make at home and smells delicious?

Vanilla and Honey Sugar Scrub
3/4 cup organic turbinado sugar
1/4 cup carrier oil of your choice (I like jojoba, sweet almond, apricot or grapeseed)
1 tablespoon raw organic honey
1 teaspoon organic Vanilla extract
2 vanilla bean pods, cut and emptied

Combine sugar and Vanilla Bean in a bowl. Add oil, honey, and Vanilla extract. Mix and start scrubbing!

Peppermint Tangerine Sugar Scrub
*note: not suitable for extremely sensitive skins or pregnancy
1 cup organic turbinado sugar
2 tablespoons (more if needed) coconut oil or jojoba oil
3-5 drops peppermint essential oil
5 drops tangerine essential oil
Mix together sugar and coconut oil in a small bowl (you may want to use a fork in order to fully combine coconut oil, *do not heat oil)
add both essential oils and blend well

Lavender Lemongrass Sugar Scrub
this recipe makes several application of scrub, and the leftovers can be stored in an airtight jar in the bathroom or fridge.

1/2 cup Coconut Oil – preferably organic
1 cup Turbinado Sugar
1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
Essential Oil of Choice: My favorites are Lavender and Lemongrass, but Rose and Geranium are also great options (20 drops total)

1.Place coconut oil in small bowl with both sugars and mix together well with your hands – the coconut oil is in solid form, so the heat from your hands will help to loosen it up and make the blending process much quicker.
2.Add more sugar or coconut oil until mixture is the perfect “scrub” consistency.
3.Add in essential oil, or blend a few together and add them into the bowl.Stir the mixture until blended.
4.Wet your skin in the shower or bath, then massage this scrub (one area at a time) all over. Be sure to take precautions as this can make the skin and tub a bit slippery!
5.Rinse scrub thoroughly.
*This works best in the bathtub because you can then soak in the oils, keeping your skin super soft!
