Maui Honey Goodness

One of the highlights from our recent “inspiration” trip to Maui was our bike ride from the Haleakala summit at 10,000 ft to Haiku, a quaint coastal town where Maui honey is made. We rode through misty clouds, eucalyptus forests, lavender farms and beautiful upcountry scenery…all of which overlooked the jewel-toned Maui coastline. This month’s facial special is inspired by our time in Maui, especially what we experienced along our bike ride.

Maui honey is rich in enzymes and B vitamins. It is naturally both antibacterial and hydrating for the skin. Made with pollen from local Noni, Macadamia nut tree and wildflowers, this honey carries the scent of upcountry Maui. One of my most favorite at-home masks is also the most simple: 1 tbsp of raw honey on damp skin for 15 minutes. This honey will be featured as a special mask in the June facial special. You can order it online, if you wish, or use your local honey (found in local health conscious stores and farmer’s markets.)
