Kauai: Poipu and Malie Organics

Kauai, the Garden Island. I cant tell you how excited I was to finally see those green velvet mountains in the middle of the Pacific after 6 impatient hours on an airplane. We made our way from the airport in Lihue to Poipu at the southern tip of Kauai just in time for dinner and a beautiful sunset, and woke the next morning to watch the sea turtles playing in the waves in our backyard. After a breakfast of fresh pineapple, mango and kona coffee, we took the scenic drive through the cute surf town of Koloa to the Malie Organics headquarters and boutique.

When you get to any of the Hawaiian Islands, locals suggest you adjust to island time and change into the spirit of Aloha…and what good advice that was! Time goes by a bit slower here so that you can enjoy every passing moment, breathing in the Kauai air…a mix of red clay, plumeria, sea salt, and that unmistakable combination of fresh rain and green leaves.

Its this spirit that Malie creates each product in the luxurious organic body care line. It’s difficult to bottle the smell of fresh plumeria blossoms, but they’ve done it perfectly. Hawaiian hydrosols are infused into coconut oil, mango, vanilla, and other yummy ingredients to feed and hydrate your skin like nothing else! Upon entering the boutique, we were offered Kona Red, an antioxidant drink made from Hawaiian Coffee Berry. (I also took advantage of their tester bar to douse myself in Plumeria Body Cream.) We learned more about how each product is made using sustainable farming practices and responsible harvesting. Many of the hydrosols are made from flora in the Kokee Rainforest just a few minutes up the main road, North of Waimea Caynon.

Kauai truly is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been…and I’ve traveled around enough to gain proper perspective. Malie Organics brings the beauty of Kauai to your skin, and we are thrilled to share it with you!

Aloha!
