Many women covet designer purses or shoes; I am currently coveting this air purifier. Living at the beach with two doggies is wonderful. It also means constantly battling dust, dirt and the dreaded mildew. Air purifiers are an amazing invention and now come in compact sizes you can tuck away in a corner and never notice. And while I wait to get this bad boy in the mail…I’m outfitting every room with green plants.
Plants not only bring green beauty into your home, they help purify the air you breathe, neutralize negative or stagnant chi energy (from household appliances and electronics) and provide extra oxygen. Many varieties require little maintenance, so you don’t need to be Martha Stewart to enjoy the benefits a plant can bring.
According to NASA (I’d listen to these guys,) the plants that have the most purifying power are:
Bamboo or Reed Palm
Snake Plant (pictured)
Elephant Ear Philodendron
Janet Craig Dracaena
Cornstalk Dracaena (pictured)
Rubber Plant (pictured)
Tree Hugger was nice enough to post this list along with a link for each and every plant so that you can take a peek at them before heading to your local greenhouse.
