This is one of our favorite seaweed mask recipes. It is so easy to mix and can be used as a facial mask or as a body wrap mask. Make a batch and it will keep in the refrigerator for about 2 days.
Rejuvenating Seaweed Mask:
4 tablespoons Kelp (seaweed) powder – this can be found in most health food stores like Whole Foods
1/ 2 cup organic Aloe Vera gel
3 tablespoons Distilled Water
- Combine aloe and kelp in a small bowl until blended and slowly add in distilled water a little bit at a time until you reach a “mask” or paste consistency is reached.
Apply to clean, damp skin and let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes (or up to 1 hour.)
Rinse with warm (preferably filtered) water and apply your favorite treatment or cream.
*For better absorption of minerals and antioxidants, gently exfoliate skin before applying the seaweed mask.
- Add in a 1 oz. shot of freshly juiced wheatgrass for even more antioxidant, detoxifying and nutritional benefits!
- Blend kelp powder with kaolin clay powder (about 50/50 ratio) before mixing with aloe and distilled water. This will allow the mask to dry and harden slightly on the skin, helping to pull out cellular debris stuck in the pores and absorb excess oil.
