You’ve already been told numerous times to “eat your greens.” Green leafy veggies are some of the most nutrient dense foods you can eat for skin health and radiance. Packed with vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, and other skin goodies, these same greens can be used topically to benefit the skin as well! So, now you can eat your greens while wearing them…ha!
This lovely recipe is adapted from one of my favorite Spa Trade Magazines, and my skin absolutely LOVED it! Be sure to use only organic ingredients in this recipe – it makes a difference in potency.
¼ cup Watercress (natural diuretic – works as anti-inflammatory)
¼ cup Romaine Lettuce (rich in vitamins K and A, which helps with redness and cell turnover)
¼ cup Parsley (high in vitamin C, balances oil and helps tighten pores)
¼ cup Dandelion Greens (cleansing and detoxifying properties)
½ mashed Avocado (rich in natural fats the skin LOVES)
¼ cup Almond Oil (or substitute any other plant-based oil)
Add all greens into food processor and pulse to chop finely.
Turn food processor to low speed and gradually add in almond oil (the mask will start to look a bit like pesto.)
Remove mask form food processor and combine with mashed avocado in small bowl.
*Optional – add in a few drops of lavender or sweet orange essential oil for scent, or add in a small amount of fresh lemon juice (unless your skin is sensitive.)
Apply mask generously to clean, damp skin and leave on for at least 15 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly and follow with appropriate moisturizer or serum.
