Summer Apple Honey Mask Recipe

An apple a day keeps the doctor away – and it keeps your skin looking beautiful and healthy!

Apples contain an alpha hydroxy called malic acid, which gently exfoliates the skin and lowers the pH enough to create the energy boost needed for cell renewal and product penetration. Apples also contain properties which help boost elasticity in the skin, making it a perfect firming or healthy aging active ingredient. This special fruit also contains antioxidant-loaded vitamins A, C and E, as well as the B complex to strengthen and soften the skin.

With all of these benefits, it’s no wonder that apples were chosen as the fruit of the Gods! Malic and alpha hydroxy acids can be found in many of the professional skin care products used at bien-etre spa…but in between treatments, you can try this mask recipe at home:

Apple Honey Mask

1 large or 2 small apples (gala, granny smith and pink lady work well)
1 tbsp raw organic honey

add apple(s) to juicer
combine a small amount of the juice to 2 tbsp apple pulp and place in small bowl
mix in honey and blend until mask is a nice thick consistency

*extras: you can add these ingredients for even more skin benefits
½ banana – mashed
1 tbsp oatmeal, cooked and cooled
1 tsp coconut oil

While you’re at it, might as well add some extra apples to the juicer with these yummy ingredients for a great skin-friendly drink!

3 small or 2 large organic apples (vitamins A, B, C, E)
1/3 organic english cucumber (hydrating)
4 organic carrots (Beta Carotene)
2 stalks organic celery (hydrating and Vit C)
½ head of organic romaine lettuce (for a protein boost)

Love it! The kitchen so sweet and fresh now, just like summer should!
